FREE PRESS – Art X Detroit in April to celebrate local cultural life

A 35th anniversary celebration of Techno music led by genre co-founder Juan Atkins, an exhibition of photographs by the 96-year-old iconic Detroiter Bill Rauhauser, and one-woman theater show by writer-performer Sherina Rodriguez Sharpe rooted in memoir and the horror of her sexual assault and subsequent healing.

These are three of the major events — but by no means all — arriving in April as part of the third biennial Art X Detroit, an arts festival celebrating the 2013 and 2014 classes of Kresge Artist Fellows and Kresge Eminent Artists.
